TIME PENALTIES

Time penalties are issued for serious fouls, delay of game, unsportsmanlike conduct, and violent fouls. Blue card infractions are penalized 2 minutes, yellow cards are penalized 5 minutes. If a team is issued a time penalty (Blue card), that team must play a man down for the duration of the penalty, or until a goal is scored by the opposing team. If a player is issued a Yellow card for misconduct, that player must serve the entire time and must wait for a dead ball to re-enter the game. A team does not play shorthanded for a misconduct penalty unless there are no players on the bench to replace the penalized player. If a team falls below the minimum number of players required as a result of a time penalty, they will receive a forfeit. If a goalkeeper receives a blue or yellow card, a field player must serve the penalty for the goalkeeper. Once the whistle is blown to start the shootout, the ball is in play and the other players at midfield may chase down the shooter and try to stop him/her from scoring. Shootouts are awarded when, the last defender deliberately fouls an opposing team member, a foul is committed to prevent a sure goal, or for a sixth foul is committed.

I) Each team will field a total of seven players; 3 male and 3 female, and a goalkeeper of either sex. The minimum number of players required to start a game is five with one female included in that number. A team may have more females than males on the field at any time. Similarly, there can be more male players on the field than female players so long as there are no more than three male players (excluding the goalkeeper).

A female may score from anywhere on the field. A male may score from outside the red line or from within the red line if he receives a pass from a female player. A female goal is worth 2 points. A male goal is worth 1 point. A male player who is "live" (having received the ball from a female player) can play the ball off the wall and still be "hot" (able to shoot from inside the red line) as long as the ball was not touched. If a "live" player shoots and the ball is deflected off the goalkeeper, he is still "live" and may shoot again. If a female shoots and the ball is deflected off a defender, only one point is awarded.

There is no sliding or slide tackling allowed in a coed game with the exception of the goalkeeper in his box. Dangerous play will be determined at the referee's discretion and a two-minute penalty may be given if deemed necessary by the referee.

Shootouts in coed — one point for males — two points for females.
